I was elated when I ordered my HP Pavilion Notebook - 17t, and was looking forward to having a state of the art Notebook produced by the greatest Technology Company!
Then it arrived....
First thing I noticed was that the RJ-45 connector was only 100MB !!! I didn't think anything was produced today with less than a 1 GB LAN connector. I called support thinking there was a technical problem, but was informed that the product does not state what LAN connector it ships with in the description, and that the 100MB LAN connector was the ONLY one available for this laptop.
Ok, well it was true, I went back over the notes regarding the notebook, and while it did say it had a RJ45 LAN connector, it did not specifically say what the speed of the connector was... Bad assuming on my part.
Then as I got more familiar with the laptop I noticed that it only had USB 2.0 connectors, and not a single USB 3.0 connector!!! YIKES, is this true??? So I went back to the documentation, and sure enough, the specs don't state which USB Speeds are on the laptop either!
Well I guess it is what it is... I also guess you can imagine that I'm not happy with the way HP lets you assume they are selling State of the Art systems, when actually they have shaved a few pennies off the production of what would have been a world class Notebook computer, and instead provided a bare minimum system to its customer.
What would I want to make me happy you may ask? How about a full disclosure on product specs, so I don't end up making the same mistake again in the future.
