Hewlett Packard Officejet 6600 - must replace all 4 cartridges when only 1 is low???? - HP Officejet 6600

I purchased your HPOfficeJet 6600 about 6 months ago. I bought the very, very, very expensive cartridges (4 ind. ones) just a few months later. I then found out that you must purchase all cartridges and install cartridges at the same time - EVEN IF THE MAGENTA is the one that is low. What the Hell is Going On??? I bought a large black cartridge and then had to replace it even though the Magenta was the only thing low?????!!!!! This is Bull Pucky.
