I'm getting ready to drop of my laptop at a recycling center tomorrow, but not before I just express my woes about HP. I bought an HP Pavilion dv6000 a few years ago. I was getting ready to return back to school. This was my first brand new laptop that was all my own. I paid $700 plus for it. After two months I had to take it back to BestBuy and get it fixed. I got it back and it was working fine, until it started to shut off again for no reason, and I ended up losing term papers that I eventually had to rewrite. Took it back a second time, they sent it away to be fixed again. About three months later it shutdown again, and I was told the whole mother board had to be replaced. They said it would be two weeks, So I had to use my living expense money to buy a desktop because this laptop was screwing with my school work. I received my HP laptop back and two days after I got it home the buttons at the top to navigate for disc playing were completely dead, and they didn't work with the remote either. I then had to take it back in, because it was also running really loud like before and never stopped. I was hoping to get a new one because that it what the contract says after it has been in the shop this many times. That didn't happen. I realize that's a complaint for BestBuy....BUT with all that said I just wanted to rid myself of all the frustration at this lemon of a machine. I will NEVER buy anything HP again!! Problems from the start. Never ending problems that caused so much stress added to an already accelerated program in school. I even spoke to two people twice at HP support and they acted as if it was just my problem to deal with. Whenever I hear someone considering an HP, I tell them about my experience and advise them to look at other brands if they don't want to end up with a headache. Tomorrow I'm dropping this thing off, and just want to be done with it. I've read a lot of these other complaints, people wishing you'd make a better product. At this point I don't care because I'll never be an owner of any HP products. What a HUGE disappointment!!!
